The Worldwide Broker Network (“WBN”), the largest international organization of independent insurance brokers, had their biannual meeting at Schwangau, Germany. In the beautiful location of the Bavarian Alps, near Munich, 170 representatives from 75 member countries from Europe, Australia, North America, Central and South America, Africa and the far East, met to review insurance industry developments in their respective regions and worldwide.
The WBN was created in 1989 by a group of owners from small to medium size independent brokers’ firms, with a view of creating a network with members in countries throughout the world. These members are guided by the highest standards of quality service that is provided, following customized servicing guidelines mandated to all members’ clients.
Only one firm has been accepted and welcomed to the WBN exclusive network in Puerto Rico. Aegis International Insurance Corporation (“Aegis”), one of the largest locally owned insurance brokers, has been a member of the WBN since the year 2000. While attending the WBN Owners’ Council meeting at Schwangau, Gemany, Mr. Eduardo J. Chévres, President and CEO of Aegis, commented that “our membership has brought to our firm the advantage of having a solid network with all the members of the WBN. It also has provided a sizeable volume of referrals from the network members with clients’ operations in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and the Dominican Republic.”
The WBN has an exclusive software system called Risclick that allows instant communication among its members with access to its clients and designated insurance carriers. The WBN members combined premium volume in excess of 10.5 billion dollars and have a total of over 10,000 employees worldwide.
